The Annual New Hampshire Poetry Festival is an exciting event celebrating the reading and writing of poetry. The festival is organized by two leading New Hampshire literary organizations, The Poetry Society of New Hampshire (PSNH) and The New Hampshire Institute of Art (NHIA).
Historic location, contemporary poets
Held in historic downtown Manchester, the event included readings, panels, and workshops by poets from New Hampshire, across the country, and around the world.
The day culminated with a headliner reading by Gregory Pardlo, winner of the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for Poetry.
All readings, workshops and panels take place in the beautiful French Building, built for the New Hampshire Institute of Art in 1916, located at 148 Concord Street and in the nearby Lowell Building at 88 Lowell Street in Manchester. [Map]
If you need accommodations, we recommend the Manchester Radisson at the corner of Elm Street and Granite Street. There is long-term parking attached to the hotel, and the hotel is within walking distance of the festival. There is also street parking available near the NHIA conference buildings at the Brady Sullivan garage on Elm St. Also, on Saturday street parking is free.
